BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL

A state secondary school established by the Moravian-Silesian Region with legal personality. Offers an eight-year and a four-year grammar school programme, concluding with a final graduation exam.

CAPACITY: 670 students.

ADDRESS: Františka Hajdy 1429/34, 700 30 Ostrava-Hrabůvka.

FACILITIES: Modern classrooms and laboratories for chemistry, physics, biology, IT, and art education.The school also includes a sports area with a multifunctional field.

NUMBER OF STUDENTS AND STAFF:

There are approximately 600 students in 20 classes (16 eight-year classes and 4 four-year classes). The school’s team includes both teaching and non-teaching staff. Recently the Grammar School has focused on supporting gifted students, innovating teaching practices, and developing infrastructure, contributing to its positive reputation in the region.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

INVESTMENT AND MODERNIZATION: Renovation of the sports area (running tracks, long jump pits, and a workout field). Atrium renovation with added greenery and new furniture.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS: Excellent results in national physics, history, and geography competitions. The school choir, Luminis, won silver in an international competition. Teachers were recognized for their high-quality teaching.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES AND PROJECTS: Involvement in financial literacy programmes and Erasmus+ projects. Success of the student company PitPad, awarded at the national level.

CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES: Support for various initiatives such as White Cane, Heart Days, and Anti-Cancer Day.

INSPECTIONS AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: All inspections were successfully completed without any issues. The school managed its budget efficiently and transparently.
